U.S. Customs and Border Protection Tucson branch officials said they seized 169,000 undeclared U.S. currency on a Mexican man. On the 12th, Dennis DiConcini port inspectors randomly inspected a Mexican man who was crossing the border with a child. Inspectors discovered their truck's speakers had been modified, and further searches revealed 19 packages of cash totaling $168,998. The undeclared cash and vehicle were seized and the 35-year-old man was arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security agency for investigation. The child was released to his mother without further charges.
