Fire restrictions are in effect for 15 counties across the state. As the entire state of Arizona is in a period of high wildfire risk, the state government has extended fire restrictions to all state lands in 15 counties across the state. Earlier this month, state government fire restrictions were limited to six state lands in the southeast. Starting on the morning of the 18th, campfires, charcoal-burning devices or other open flames will be prohibited on all state lands. Smoking outdoors on state land is also prohibited except in an enclosed vehicle or building, and all flammable materials must be removed after camping. Fireworks are prohibited. These restrictions apply statewide to all state lands, game, fish and wildlife refuges, and state parks. State park camping areas will remain open but are subject to fire bans.
