108 pounds of marijuana seized at Arizona border (Alberta Times) U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials announced Monday that a Mexican man was arrested while trying to enter the southern part of the state with 108 pounds of marijuana. Roberto Costa Alvarado, 18, was driving a multi-drive at customs in Douglas on Saturday when a drug-sniffing dog spotted him, and agents later found more than 100 packages of marijuana in his vehicle. The relevant person in charge stated that the value of this batch of drugs is approximately US$91,000. According to reports, the suspect is a native of Sonora, Mexico, and the border authorities have handed him over to the Homeland Security Investigations Division of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency for processing.
