The state's minimum wage will be raised starting in January next year: $7.65 (Alberta Times) The Arizona Industrial Commission decided in mid-October to raise the minimum wage starting on January 1, 2012. Arizona established its state minimum wage in 2006, and state wages increase annually based on the cost of living and federal wage standards. The federal consumer price index increased 3.8% this fiscal year, resulting in a 30-cent-per-hour increase in the minimum wage. Due to the lower cost of living, the minimum wage was not adjusted in 2009 and 2010, but increased by 10 cents in 2011.
